Thankfully, the month to kickstart the new year has ended amid a trail of high winds, rain, fire, record warmth, a flu bug, an early Cowboy retirement,and more phlegm coughed up, blown out, wiped off, and trashed courtesy of being sicker than I can ever remember as a sober person...finally coming out of the fog, pop my ears and hear some good music.
If all reports happen to be true on the Yahoo sites, it appears the Mavericks are about to partake in a three team deal with New Jersey and Portland. Names being bandied about for trading are Devean George, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, and Devin Harris to NJ/Portland for Jason Kidd and two lesser knowns.
I was having a discussion with two coworkers this day and one of the gals (a bartender who is busy with college) posed an interesting thought...
It was also this date when Arizona would host it's first Super Bowl, a rematch of Super Bowls X and XIII in 1996. Super Bowl XXX would be a back and forth affair between the Cowboys and Steelers until Neil O'Donnell was unable to throw his way out of a paper sack with two late INT's as Dallas would prevail 27-17.
Since sobering up in 1997 I cannot remember a time when I was sicker for the course of a week. Hot and cold flashes, poor sleeping fits by the hour, poorly heated parts of the place you work, and the recipe for feeling crappy grows two fold...Everything seems a beatdown, nothing comes easy, everybody seems to be a little too high maintenance for you. That's Dallas every day :)
