    Spirits and Saints Subsisting...

    The #1 ranked defense was knocked to #4 after allowing 432 total yards in all of three quarters. Credit Andy Reid with a great job of keep away. 42 minutes the Eagles maintained time of possession offensively. Impressive. Eagles are now 13-0 when coming off a Bye week!

    Week 8 on the NFL Slate.

    Tom Brady has a career record of 6-1 against the Steelers. A few of those wins have been on the road in Pittsburgh in the playoffs. No fear for the Wolverine alum when taking on the Steel Defense. My gut tells me that Vince Woolfork will come up big this afternoon when this game starts.

    Just Not In The Cards...

    There will be a lot of 'what-ifs' this off season in Arlington. What happened in Game 6 will also go down as the worst loss in Dallas history ever. This will surpass the back to back Cowboy losses to the Green Bay Packers in 1967-1968. This surpasses the anguish of Game 6 2006 with the Heat. This surpasses the frustration of a 2000 Stanley Cup loss to the Devils. It also surpasses the embarrassment of the Game 7 playoff in 1988 for the Mavericks when playing the Lakers. And deservedly so...

    Greatest World Series Game Ever?

    I remember when I was a little kid in 1975 being transfixed to my television set for a two week period in October as the World Series with the Reds and Red Sox went a full seven games. Each game had a different result. You had great pitching, high drama, dramatic walk-off wins, and an exciting climax to a Game 7 finish. The same could be said for the 1986, 1987, and 1991 World Series games.

    Eyeing The Front Line...

    Now closing in on eleven years here in the Southwest, you know when a change is coming. It began at about midnight as I was halfway through my evening walk. Looking skyward and seeing that line of clouds. The big puffy kind that slowly make their way to you and just look menacing. Aided by a shift in wind direction is a pretty safe warning. The mercury was in the upper 60's.
