    A Small World With FB Help...

    It was about 25 minutes in when I realized I was talking to a baseball fan, and a knowledgeable one at that! Not being one to normally call up someone on a whim, It was like an epiphany to connect with someone over a commonality of a given sport.

    As I See It.

    Chop has always been accessible and available whenever I had a question. His knowledge of college sports is pretty amazing and he loves his Yankees and Jets. Okay, so not perfect but a great fit for the mornings where sports can be discussed for a change. Congratulations RJ!

    Speaking of answering the challenge, raise your hands if you picked Butler, VCU, Connecticut, and Kentucky in the Final Four...Just as I thought, not one hand. Haven't had the luxury of watching much of the basketball yet I was transfixed on the Kansas-VCU matchup yesterday.

    Diamond Daze on a Dreary Day.

    2.Yankee Captain Derek was born in '74. Appropriate in that is exactly how many hits he is short of reaching 3,000. Already the Yankee hits leader having surpassed Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle, the coveted 3,000 will be the first by a Yankee in our lifetime. This will be the number one feel good story of 2011 in the MLB. #3000 will occur on his 37th birthday June 27th...

    Unconditional Love of Life.

    It is moments like these you really begin to take a step back and ask yourself, 'Am I being all that I can be? How would I handle this scenario if it were me? Have I been a good soldier? Am I happy?' In most cases I can say yes to all of that. It still breaks my heart to see something like this happen. Equally telling is how well Nick is handling the final chapter of his life.
