    Halfway Home!

    Hard to believe but we now reached the halfway point of 2008. The next week is traditionally the slowest week in restaurants and retail as people get away for the vacation and/or 4th of July proceedings.

    Weather Or Not.

    All set to catch some Ranger baseball at 6 pm. Work day now done I am heading home from Las Colinas. What was a blistering 101 degree is about to change. I see dark and threatening clouds in the distance out Oklahoma way. The clouds seem to follow me as I drive south sixteen miles.

    Blue Collar Brushes.

    If there's one phrase to describe fans from Philly town, it would be passionate-obnoxious. I mean that in a good way. Maybe it's an east coast thing, maybe it's just being part of a blue-collar community. There is something to be said about being able to get under the skin of fans from a visiting city.

    9 Rematches from The Past!

    Interleague play will wind up this weekend. I like how we have had deja-vus with rematches from the 1906, 1954, 1959, 1960, 1968, 1975, 1988, 1989, and 2000 World Series this year! Back when this process began many questioned-myself included-whether or not this would take away from the lustre of the grand old game. That answer is a resounding 'NO!' Look for some payback to be exacted by the White Sox and Yankees...

    RIP Georgie Boy!

    The tributes continue to pour in for George Carlin, the comedian who sadly passed away earlier in the week. The man who made the FCC a household name for the 'seven words you can't say on the air' was an incredible wordsmith when displaying the absurdity of how humanity views and treats life. His comparisons of football to baseball are dead on.
