    Reaching the Station

    Normally I am not one to go clubbing unless there's an invitation involved. This happened to be the case yesterday as the lovely Miss Sarah Jones was celebrating a birthday in Mockingbird Station. I know very little about the Park Cities area. That is, unless I am attending an SMU football game or hitting the Starbucks there on Hillcrest Ave.

    A Collective 15.8? Geez!

    In sadder media speak, Japan was Farrah Fawcett as Chile took on the persona of Michael Jackson for media coverage. Knowing how these events unfold, the casualty count is going to rise, sadly. Soon there will be Youtube images of how violently the earth shook on February 26th into the morning of February 27th.

    Purple Haze and Happy...

    Years past time and time again I watched Kobe Bryant single-handedly take over in a game late. His shooting was off. Derek Fisher would hit a random three from outside the perimeter and keep L.A. close. In that final period it looked like the Lakers had a collective meltdown with the shooting while the Mavericks were a near-perfect 14 for 15 at the free-throw line.

    All Business After Nine Years.

    Statistics appear to bear this decision out. You take ex amount of hits as a player from 23-30. Something about hitting 30 and onward that says you garner tread on the feet. Rust in the quads. Those cuts not as cutting and those bursts of clear not as bursting. It happens. Even the best horse gets put out to pasture after a given time.

    Miracle in the Making?

    I swore I had a sense of 'deja vu' right before the puck dropped on Canada-USA. Did I hear Jeremy Roenick say 'Canada should win because the U.S. has too much youth'? The same was said about that collegiate team 30 years prior.
