Even for me this has been quite the month for outdoor events. A case of being in the right place at the right time. Being lucky for that matter, I accept. On the heels of a concert and a golf tournament was a Trifecta in my future to top off the three day weekend? Yes!
What first caught my eye was the larger than life bronze statue of Ben Hogan, a multiple winner of the event in the 40's and 50's. I was then impressed by the lay of the course with big trees (providing ample shade on a 96 degree day). The course looked even better in person than on TV.
If going to your class reunion is like this then remind me to go back. It was like time stood still. Yes we are older, wiser, grayer, and maybe a little more humble. It was a pleasant experience! Even minus Gary and Alan, the essence of Speedwagon was spot on.
Grey Goose and Red Bull along with the Strawberry Mojito continue to be the rage inside the River. I can't explain it but the people who go Mojito are smoking hot. I have no problem selling that all day. Sorry bartenders...just saying.
First thing I wish to convey to you is that if you come to Las Colinas for the golf, get here early! Parking will be at a minimum after 9 am. I can also tell you that if you decide to partake in the booze, please designate a driver. The cops will be everywhere, and you really don't want to be the one to say that the Byron cost you fifteen grand.
