Today marked the 4th Media Day attended since 2009 and to say that the overall ambience, mood, excitement, tenor, and anticipatory feel of the season to come is one that you can't help but enjoy. Mind you this is the first off-season since 2000 that Dallas enjoyed an extended off season.
In all probability FCDallas will now need to earn at least three wins in the next four games to have any chance at all to extend their season. Much like the Rangers earlier in the day.
With the Vikings and Steelers all set to make the trek out to London England lets hope one of these teams can get their 1st W. Otherwise the only two absolutes I am keeping my focus on is whether or not the Broncos go 16-0 or if the Jaguars go a perfect 0-16. We shall see.
It's now on to Norman Oklahoma for a 6 pm showdown with the #11 ranked Sooners. 1 week before the Red River Rivalry here in Dallas, there have been instances of either Texas or Oklahoma suffering a loss one week prior to their yearly meetup. Perhaps October 5th will be one of those days. TCU will then host the Jayhawks hours after the Red River Rivalry has kicked off at the Old Cotton Bowl.
For a moment as I began to cry I thought about how emotional Emmitt Smith got 10/27/02 when becoming the all time NFL rusher. The tears were hot and heavy when Smith had a moment with Daryl Johnston. That stopped me in my tracks. That moment 11 years ago still seemed like yesterday.
