The night before Valentine's Day in 1992 I saw Metallica perform a 3 hour show without an opening act at the L.A. Forum with Chuck. Months after the release of the black album with the snake on the cover, radio stations were playing the hell out of the album. I bought the cassette the day it was released. Not a bad song on the list. A great followup to 'And Justice For All...' my favorite album up until that time.
This day Brandon McCarthy would start for the Rangers against David Price. Brandon pitched like the man I saw hurl goose eggs as a Chisoxer in 2005 here in Arlington. Nelson Cruz with a 2-run homer early. Texas would have success on David Price on some walks, a wild pitch, and 2 timely hits. After 7 innings Texas enjoyed a 5-0 lead.
Barbara was the life of the party. I hope she had fun. My guess is she'll sleep very well on the boat tomorrow in the 95 degree heat. Happy Belated birthday sis! Hope you had fun!

The day I remember like yesterday-11/23/00 was Thanksgiving Day. I was in Seattle newly single and watching my Vikings beat up on the Cowboys in Texas on TV. Out of the blue I made a call to Barbara. The words she used to this day still resonate.
