Jason The Terrific?
If all reports happen to be true on the Yahoo sites, it appears the Mavericks are about to partake in a three team deal with New Jersey and Portland. Names being bandied about for trading are Devean George, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, and Devin Harris to NJ/Portland for Jason Kidd and two lesser knowns.
For three years now each time Jason Kidd's name is mentioned, since he played in Dallas years ago. there's always speculation he'll come here. I am not sensing it this time. I'm not sure I'd want to make this trade. Kidd is king of the double-double, but I also believe his style of play could get in the way of what Avery and Dallas hope to do come playoff time. Kidd's an Oakland prodigy, I can see him finishing out his career in Nellyland. Just my personal opinion.
Mere weeks away from the trading deadline, wondering if anything will top the reunion of Donnie Nelson and Chris Webber? Can you say 1994 and that rookie season in Oakland? Twas ugly...
Johan Santana now a Met for four untesteds? What kind of steal was this for New York? Legalese in Santana's contract stated that he will no doubt get a contract extension in the area of six years and 140 million. Oh, if you're Omar Minaya, there isn't enough aspirin in the world to cure what's about to ail you. Santana will no doubt have success in New York, but only after a shaky start in the National league. Come June 1st, things will start to click...
This day in 1994, a rematch from the previous Super Bowl. This time the Georgia Dome watches the Cowboys go back-to-back with 24 unanswered points in a 30-13 thumping of Buffalo. It would mark four straight Super losses for the Bills, starting with Scott Norwood wide right...
This day in 1983, John Riggins would run for 166 yards, 43 on one play for a 27-17 Washington win over the Miami Dolphins in Pasadena, Ca. The victory erased a 14-7 loss in Super Bowl VII to Miami the year they went 17-0 at the L.A. Coliseum. Anyone not remember the Garo Yepremian bobble toss-INT? Fulton Walker ran back a kickoff for 93 yards in defeat...
