    Still The Greatest Miracle Moment!

    A bunch of young hockey players-names like Mike Eruzione, Jim Craig, Mike Ramsey, Neal Broten, Ken Morrow to name a few-would all band together and do the unthinkable...win a gold medal for their country! If you just went by the talent base alone it should have been Russia or Finland. Two weeks earlier at Madison Square Garden Russia won an exhibition over the U.S. by a 10-3 count. Apparently Team Russia never took the Red, White, and Blue seriously after that game. Mistake.

    History Happens In Threes.

    Suffice to say precedence was set on President's Day here in Dallas when the Celtics came for a visit. Short of players and down one Rajon Rondo due to suspension, the Mavericks were able to capitalize on a team struggling on the road. Losers of 5 of 6.

    From Big and Rich to LIN-phomania...

    Speaking of success, I was on front of my television all day Sunday watching the Mavericks-Knicks game. Rather streaky and not too squeaky. I was very impressed to see the poise and prose of Jeremy Lin. 28 points and 14 assists. A 17-0 Knicks run in the 1st half.

    Corner Kicks With Rainy Tricks!

    The countdown to the regular season is on. March 11th with the New York Red Bulls. Today ABC will be frothing for a record rating of a day. On March 11th, 1 year removed from the start of an NFL lockout and tsunami in Japan, another New York team will come to Frisco, Texas to begin what should be an exciting 2012 MLS season for FC Dallas. NBC Sports will be covering that game. I will be there!

    Of Four and 40...

    Some numerical fun: The win was Phil's 40th careerwise. But wait. does history repeat? Prior to this past week, Phil had played very poorly in the 3 events prior before winning on the 4th tourney. Look back at 2007 and 2009 and the very same thing happened to Sir Phil! Go figure...
