As far as luck goes another successful week for yours truly. 9-6 straight up (68-37-1 YTD) and 9-6 against the spread (62-44 YTD). The first half has been good to me with the picks. While content with the way things have gone-like the Dallas Cowboys-the time is coming for a letdown, a reality check, and a week that will land me on my behind.
Period two began even faster as Jamie Benn and Cody Eakin would crack the crease 29 seconds apart to increase the lead to 5-0 after 21 minutes.
The bigger question was how the TCU defense would respond if a lead was sustained late.
While the big three were oiled and doing well the big surprise of the afternoon was the collective effort of the Cowboys defense. Two key fumbles (a third was disallowed by a forward progress whistle which could not be challenged) forced by Barry Church and Justin Durant helped stop drives where Eli Manning and the Giants were on the move.
After a scoreless first half and two substitutions made by Coach Oscar Pareja (Tesho Akindele and Kellyn Acosta for Tex and Benitez) it was in the 55th minute that FCDallas was awarded a penalty kick after Rapid defender Dillon Serna was caught handing the ball.
