    Channeling My Inner Duvall!

    Hello and Happy Saturday!

One night of wonderful cool fall-like weather now gives way to hot again in North Texas through next Wednesday. I'm really curious to see what the winter and spring will be like, courtesy of this continuing La Nina phenomenon.

Happy Birthday with love to my sister Barbara. Enjoy Journey/Foreigner/Night Ranger later this day!

Moments away from an action packed Saturday at Valley Ranch and at Rangers Ballpark, my mind is thinking back to a new movie that was just released in theatres. Highland Village was where my travels took me.

'7 Days in Utopia' is a movie that I predict will be a great stocking-stuffer for the fan of the DVD. Robert Duvall stars in this movie with a message about persevering, overcoming, forgiving, and living in the moment. Fans of golf will definitely enjoy this 90 minute flick about one man's struggles with self and his game. Not exactly a high budget affair, but a great feel-good flick all the same. Note the cast of cameos from the PGA...

After you go watch the above mentioned movie be sure to check out the following for some interesting tidbits about this movie. '7 Days In Utopia' could easily be promoted on religious programming and on 'The Golf Channel'. I also can foresee a sequel.

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers as they clinched the A.L. West for a second year in a row. Just like last year on the 26th of September, another banner shall get hoisted this day before the first pitch. I'm just happy about being able to get on the playing field and watch some batting practice just like on Opening Day. For the 5th straaight season the Rangers have managed to improve their record under Ron Washington.

Not that anything is etched in stone, but if things decide to play out in the favor of Texas with the #2 record in the American League, they would bypass the Yankees and play the Red Sox if the season ended today. September 30th the fun starts for the ALDS. I know CJ Wilson and Derek Holland were good for 15 wins in 2011. I have ambiguities as to whom I want to see the Rangers play in the first round.

Lots of college football on the docket today. If there was one game I'd like to be at, it would definitely be at College Station with the Aggies and Cowboys. That game has the makings of a great matchup. Kyle Field is truly a fun experience. Death Valley next on my bucket list.

Hopeful that tomorrow I will go watch 'Moneyball'. Everyone I have spoken to has high praise for this movie. Haven't read the book so I'm okay with that. Brad Pitt alone will make this movie worthwhile.

Off to Valley Ranch, you make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
