What Will It Be in Week 3?
Happy Friday everybody!
Welcome to the first day of fall. My favorite time of the year. The weather might not reflect this for a while here locally but rest assured that the days are indeed getting shorter and the mercury shall slowly fall into more seasonable numbers. Time to get that wardrobe out for upkeep sake.
I can honestly tell you that I am shocked at how lucky at my picks against the spread the first two weeks of the 2011 NFL season. It is very unlikely that I can maintain this level of success. If I can keep at a 9-7 clip the rest of the season I will be one happy guy. There are a whole host of trap games in Week 3 that I normally would not even attempt to bet on or even attempt to gauge a wager on.
That said, there are a couple of games that I believe absolutely SCREAM locks for the week. The biggest one in my opinion is the mismatch in San Diego Sunday with the Chiefs. I will not be surprised if Todd Haley gets the can after this game if the Chiefs fail to show up for a 3rd straight week and allow a 40 spot. Lamar Hunt no doubt is getting mad within his grave.
You're probably also safe with the Sunday Night Game if you're eyeing the Steelers. Poor Indy has nothing without Peyton. Semi-lock of the week #2. Steelers appear to have righted the ship after a horrendous start with the Ravens and blanking the Seahawks 24-0.
Without further adieu let's see what kind of damage I can do in Week 3. The following are just an educated gut check of a guess so pick carefully.
Week 3 in the NFL I like: San Francisco (+2.5), Buffalo (+7), New Orleans (-4), Philadelphia (-8.5), Miami (+2), Tennessee (-7), Detroit (-3), Carolina (-3.5), San Diego (-14.5), Oakland (+3), Baltimore (-5), Atlanta (+1.5), Arizona (-3.5), Green Bay (-4), Pittsburgh (-10.5), and Washington (+6) over the Cowboys on Monday night in absolute war of defenses. I still think Jon Kitna should start!
Happy watching of the football college and pro this weekend. If out and about, designate a driver! Please!
Looking forward to some Cowboys and Rangers tomorrow afternoon...
Make it a great day!
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
