That 70's Feel...
Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope this final weekend of summer finds you a good place. I must admit that it was a bit of a welcome reprieve to walk to and from work in cooler temperatures and with a steady amount of rainfall that fell for a good part of Friday night in North Texas while I was at work.
It's rare for me to just go out and dance until I'm blue in the face, or sweating beyond my threshold of tolerance. Last night I made an exception. Acting on a tip from my coworker Dan the Man, I decided to throw caution to the wind and check out a new band to Cool River.
I saw these kids perform back on Labor Day weekend at a residential party and they were pretty impressive. Great cover band with lots of energy. The Walton Stout band travels incredibly well and their energy level was on a par with LeFreak and Professor D. Two long time bands with history in North Texas.
In what no doubt was a prelude to what I would be looking forward to later this day with a 70's angle, a fun time was had amongst the Cool River rats and fans of Walton Stout. I'm pretty sure they will be back in Irving to play at a later date. I was tired but alert come 2am.
With the weather being rather iffy this night it was good to be so close to home. It was also a welcome relief to awaken to weather that was about to get warmer again come Sunday! Today my mind was on how much money we could raise for the Genesis Women's Shelter. A charity that has special meaning for people like Jim Line, Barbie Dombro, and Rick Stanley.
Fun times will be had later today at the Delante Clubhouse in Irving Texas for 'Get Up and Boogie'. Honoring those with a birthday in September and making a donation for those who need a helping hand. Charity should begin at home.
Also looking forward to an interesting meeting tomorrow with a mover and a shaker in a different realm of service. Details later in the weekend or start of next week. Today is going to be a long day.
Be safe out there and look for Florida State to create problems for Oklahoma later on tonight.
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
