    Hot Trophy Date!

    Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

It has been said, 'be careful what you wish for' because you just might get it. Put a different way, ask and the universe shall give you. There is something to also be said when you have created skins on the wall or gain favor with people you meet along the way doing your thing.

One month ago on a fluke meeting I was honored to do a promotion with a local minor league baseball team. One thing leads to another and then you find yourself riding a wave of success due to the efforts of others. Along that way you also get invited to watch close up.

One week ago on 9/12th the Grand Prairie Air Hogs won an American Association title in only their 4th year of existence. Great work from the minds of Karen Lucchesi, Craig Brasfied, and Rickey Van Asselberg allowed for this to happen.

It was my plan to do a 1 hour tribute to the team for giving North Texas a second title in three months. This shall do wonderful things for the local communities when it comes to teamwork.

About 2 hours before showtime I asked one question of Karen Lucchesi. 'Any chance we can bring the trophy into studio?' She didn't skip a beat. How often does a team VP go to your studio and drop off a piece of hardwood and entrust you with it? That's pretty special.

So here I was, me and my trophy date, walking side by side in Irving, at the Starbucks, getting photographed by my bosses and coworkers at Cool River. One of my cohorts even raised it up Stanley Cup style. Mind you, we didn't drink from it.

A wonderful three tiered piece of jewelry that looked and felt pretty elegant. In a year where I have kissed and held the Stanley Cup, the NBA trophy, and the Western Conference Final trophy this is a nice trifecta for me personally.

An added treat was to be able to speak with Manager Vanasselberg, Jason Jennings, and Karen Lucchesi on the air. The camera was close by so I could photograph all the glint and glow. I even took one shot where the KVCE mike was pointed toward the trophy. If it could speak, I can imagine what it may have said.

'I've had more hands on me than Madonna in the last decade. When will all this happy drama stop?'

My answer is 'not for a while'. Success breeds a desire to follow and create a blueprint. Grand Prairie is now on the map. A nice formula is in tow. 'Mr. Will' grateful to be able to be a part of the playoff success. The people pf Grand Prairie have much to be proud of.

Let's see if the Rangers can or will follow suit. Next week their fun shall commence.

Later today my trophy date gets returned to the VP. Oh, what fun I had the last 24 hours! Like a victory tour minus the Michael Jackson sightings...

Giants win an ugly game in NJ. 11-3-2 for Week 2, 23-6-3 for the early start of 2011. Not looking forward to making picks for Week 3. Dallas is beyond banged up! Ouch!

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
