    Honoring That Silver Boot.

Hello and Happy Hump Day my friends.

I hope you are surviving the weather where you are. I see that there are wildfires burning out of control in New Mexico and Arizona. I also see where there is rain and cool weather befalling my old haunts in the Pacific Northwest. To think I used to exult when the mercury surpassed 65 on a June day. Now I shrug when we DON'T top the 100 degree mark. Ah, the things one gets used to over time...

Last night in Houston the second leg of the Inter league battle for the Silver Boot resumed. We know Ron Washington wasn't the least bit happy with the way the Rangers performed during the Mets series. Leave it to long time buddies C.J. Wilson and Josh Hamilton to come up big with defensive gems and hits on the night.

With a little more than two weeks for preparing to play by National League rules, Wilson collected his first ever hit by way of a triple. The very same type of play Josh Hamilton robbed off the bat of Carlos Lee. El Caballo was stranded at the final furlong.

Later this weekend we'll discover whether or not C.J. Wilson will get a starting nod for the All-Star Game for the American League. His 8-3 record dictates he is worthy. I'll say 'yes' he gets considered.

Josh Hamilton with a homer looks like he might finally be overcoming his day game issues and slump that has baffled many.

It should also be noted that Nolan Ryan is absolutely in favor of realignment and for the Astros to jump to the A.L. and play alongside the Rangers in the West. I'll be okay with this on the day the Yanks-Mets, Cubs-White Sox, Orioles-Nationals, and Angels-Dodgers follow suit. Otherwise I do not follow this logic.

Colby Lewis will take the mound tonight for the visiting Rangers. 7:05 first pitch in Houston. I hope to catch some of the action.

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
