Cowboys and Oilers Revisited.
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday from hot and steamy Dallas Texas.
Last week we endured a week-long stretch of triple digit heat. More of the same to commence as of yesterday with high pressure socked into the Lone Star state. Nothing gets in and nothing goes out while all the fun stuff happens all around the U.S. of A.
My thanks once again to Mark Oristano for taking the time to talk to us last night on 'Monday Night in Texas.' Long time stage actor and career football broadcaster for both the Cowboys and Oilers. Long time friend on Facebook and VERY knowledgeable when it comes to discussing the rudiments of the gridiron game.
We didn't have time to discuss many things Cowboys. I enjoyed going down memory lane in the year 1978. The night America first saw Earl Campbell tear up the Steelers on the road 24-17 10/23/78.
Then what some called 'The Greatest Game Ever' on Monday Night Football 11/20/78 when 'Luv Ya Blue' was born and Earl Campbell had a 28 carry 199 yard game. 81 of those yards were on his last carry as he went for a score in a wild 35-30 game over the Dolphins. A rare night when only Howard and Frank were in the booth for a true classic.
I promise we will get Mark back to discuss some of his other loves, like acting and seeing his daughter also perform on the series 'Friday Night Lights'. Once the NFL season is up and running again that will be a repeat interview with a little more time to spare. Time to discuss a multitude of things Cowboys at that!
One hour goes awfully fast. Will try to keep concise and to the point.
Make it a great day and stay dry!
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
