Fashionista Fun and More Football-Week 13...

Hello and Happy Sunday from a wet, windy, and cold North Texas. Forgot how well one can sleep on an off day with rain as the background noise. 8 hours and ready to tackle another day.

In this blitz of holiday parties throughout the U.S. it is important to note that if you know you're going to imbibe heavily, be sure to designate a driver. I'm always available for a small fee. The police presence will be heavier on the highway roads. Treat yourself and your family for ten grand. Don't pass it off to your local lawyer and police officer...

Three years ago Greg Johnson made a very astute observation during a karaoke moment. 'Bro, you're from Hoboken...You have that Sinatra thing down pat...You ought to consider wearing the Penguin attire wherever you go!' Hate to say it, but Greg may have been on to something! Since last May, whenever I get the tux on, amazing has happened.

Last night some of Dallas' biggest, brightest, and shiniest appeared for a very successful and well planned Launch Party to benefit the Toys For Tots foundation. The Ultimat Vodka, Red Bull, Patron, and Cranberry Juice were a-flowing! Everyone was into the spirit...

A wonderful mix of fashionista types and T.V/Radio types mingling and networking within Anderson Studios for a wonderful time, and a wonderful cause. On the recommendation of a friend I was able to play Bartender replete in Tie and Tux. Thanks to Greg and Cindy for the recomendations! Spot on!

Maybe it's due to the time of the year or maybe it's due to the month still being in the early stages. i have been very lucky to have experienced some very fun and happy go lucky holiday parties thus far.

Always a pleasure to run into such good people like a Cynthia Smoot, Leeann Locken, Fiona Gorostiza, and a fellow bartender I once worked with years ago, Kristen Perotti. Dallas is amazing for allowing everybody to know everybody for such a large community. Last night a wonderful illustration of that.

Special thanks to Willie at House Of Cigars for the hand rolled hookup. He was telling me he can hand roll a cigar in about 2 minutes. Next party I throw I'll make sure to pay by the hour and collect a quick 30 (smile). House Of Cigars located in the Farmers Branch part of town. A damn good cigar. Gracias amigo!

Thursday nights win on Philly pretty much a gimme. An impressive 11-5 week for Week 12. Currently 100-69-8 for the season, I see a couple of games that scream 'Trouble' when going against the spread. First and foremost I worry about how the Cowboys will look in the desert after a nine day reprieve. The last couple of years special teams have done Dallas in when the Cardinals came to play.

I also think that the Chiefs can play spoiler in the cold conditions of Soldiers Field. Teams with the most playoff implications tend to play like a team with aspirations. We also have a week in the NFL when each first place team manages to lose. That might be next week. Talk at work that this week the Pack finally cracks. I do not agree with this philosophy. For a lock of the week, can we all agree on New England over the hapless Colts? Nothing else really catches my eye for now. That said, this week in the NFL I like: Buffalo (-1), Kansas City (+8.5), Oakland (+3.5), Pittsburgh (-7), Baltimore (-7), Washington (+3), Atlanta (-2), Carolina (-2), New Orleans (-9), Denver (+1), St. Louis (+14) for a possible upset, Arizona (+4.5), Green Bay (-7), New England (-20.5), and Jacksonville in the Monday Nighter (+3).

Special teams might be the mantra of the day in many of the games today. Happy watching and continue to enjoy the crescendo of the holidays now upon us.

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
