Victory the French Canadian Way!

Hello and Happy Saturday my friends.

2011 is about to come to an end. Thankfully it will not end sans a W if you're a Mavericks fans. For some strange it seems every time Dallas and Toronto meet up, it's like a wild ride on the Titan at Six Flags with an errant see-saw for added scare fun. 

It wasn't exactly pretty. Heck, it rarely is when playing that team from the north.

Despite runs of 10-5, 14-0, and 8 lead changes it was the yeoman play of Ian Mahinmi going 6 of 6 in the field with 19 points to lead the Mavericks to their first win of the young season by a 99-86 count. Victory by way of Canada with a French Connection. Maybe Beaubois and Mahinmi are the answer to the puzzle of replacements?

It was also the return of former Maverick coach Dwane Casey. He has a young team in Toronto led by men like Leandro Barbosa and Andrea Bargnani who collectively accounted for 50 of the Raptors 86 points.

Another sellout crowd at the AAC, the 401st consecutive in regular season play which included players from Penn State and Houston.

Dallas improves to 1-3 as they now prepare for a roadie in Minnesota on New Years Day at 6pm. Immediately they fly back home to battle the Thunder on Monday night. these backs will be a tester to be sure for the still recovering NBA players. Dallas still looks old and in need of finding ways to replace the presence and energy men like Tyson Chandler and JJ Barea gave on the hardwood. Rick Carlisle will put the pieces in place. It was a happy locker room post-game.

Great to hang out with and pick the brain of Crystal Carroll while the game was in progress. CC, you know your stuff. Thanks again. It was a blast to finally get interactional on Tweetdeck and Coveritlive while the game was going on!

2011 is history. I'll check back later this day to reflect on a year I still can't believe transpired as it did!
