    2011-A Look Back...

    Hello there.

As we fast approach the end of another calendar year, suffice to say 2011 is a year I will remember as the best of my adult life. It felt like anything and everything I wanted to do I was able to do, and then some!

It began with the buildup to a Super Bowl in my backyard of Arlington. Bad weather notwithstanding it was a wonderful culmination of years of planning. Even though the Cowboys didn't get to play in Super Bowl 45 there was quite a bit of buzz with the Packers and Steelers. North Texas represented incredibly well.

It was then saying goodbye to Arlington and starting anew in the city of Irving. Presidents Day weekend would end a six year tenure spent living under the eye of Jerry World and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. It was memorable and fun. It was also time for a change. It took a while but I found myself getting into the spirit of bettering myself for health purposes.

January 3rd I returned to doing spot work on the radio after an 11 year absence. It was like riding a bicycle again once I placed air within a flat tire. To be able to enjoy events with hockey, baseball, basketball, football, golf, and charitable events was indeed a highlight! Asking Rick Carlisle a question during the NBA Finals while the world was watching was something I did not anticipate. That was real fun!

Mid May, I got back to old hobbies where health was concerned. To be able to look into that mirror and to step upon a scale that said I was successful at dropping 55 pounds was a real blessing. Not that I recommend running in 100 degree heat at the peak of the day. I took every precaution and it turned out okay.

Work continues to treat me very well. I couldn't ask for a better staff. A fun group of kids at that! Every day it seems I keep learning something new. At this point in my life, that's a good thing. I wouldn't trade this for the world.

So many good things happened in 2011 about the only thing I wish to focus on in 2012 is to maintain a semblance of balance in all my affairs. Not going overboard while in the middle of an assignment. Being able to maintain a balance between work, play, and health. I believe I have a good plan in place. One day at a time.

2011 I had some really good people in key places to assist me on projects that I partook. My thanks to those individuals. You know who you are. Moreover to be able to say I have been in contstant contact with Mom, Dad, and old friends to keep me grounded has also been a true blessing.

A Maverick title and subsequent victory parade was beyond memorable. The Rangers reaching a second World Series in 2 years equally exciting. To be able to cover the Rangers, Cowboys and Mavericks a total blast! Dallas Stars: You're next!

2012 my number one resolution is to make sure I have all the facts before making a rush to judgment. To think before I speak. To have more fun in my off-time and to continue this dance with destiny which I believe awaits me. Start of year #3 at Cool River and year #2 at AM1160 KVCE radio. Let's see where all this shall play itself out.

2011 about to become a memory as I head to work one last time this year. Truly a year for many memories and many blessings.

Make it a great and safe night!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
