    Christmas Eve Pickings and Grinnings

Happy Saturday and a hearty Ho! Ho! Ho! to you.

My day began quite early as I got a phone call from a friend who couldn't make today's Cowboys game. No brainer for myself as I have had the luck of watching these two behemoths play 12/25/06 and 12/16/07 to the tune of 23-7 and 10-6 Eagle victories. Of course the question of the day is going to be whether or not this afternoon's matchup will even matter with a Giants victory? Which Cowboy team shall show up?

I often wonder if the holidays tend to make a team get lazy or comfortable with an opponent. Is it tough to concentrate when you have family to attend to unlike any other time of year? On Christmas Eve?

In case you wonder last week I was a paltry 8-7-1 against the spread. Week prior 10-5-1. For the year 'Mr. Will' sits at 126-89-10. Not bad nut could be better...

With all the games slated for today, it's safe to pick the most obvious winner of the day. If the Packers win that will ensure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That's my lock of the day, if you will.

For the rest of the games, including my correct call of the Colts beating the Texans on Thursday, today I like:

Oakland (+3), Buffalo (+3), Jacksonville (+8), Cincinnati (+4), Miami (+7), Baltimore (-11), Giants (+2.5) in the battle of New Jersey, Washington (-6), Carolina (-8), Pittsburgh (-10), Detroit (Pick), Seattle (+2.5) to possibly upset, Philadelphia (-2.5), Green Bay (-13.5), and the WHO Dats (-7) in the Monday Nighter.

I sincerely hope Santa knows you have been good. I really do. My Christmas came early as the Cowboys and Mavericks play the Eagles and Heat this weekend, and I'll be there!

Cold , wet, and rainy here in North Texas. We will not get above 40 and a chance of snow flurries...

    Make it a great weekend!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
