A Mountain of a Man, and a Mountain.

Happy Monday everyone! Hope the weekend treated you well...

Hard to believe but it was 29 years ago since Mt. St. Helens erupted into the Northwest sky and spewed ash and smoke for miles and miles into the stratosphere. To see pictures of how the mountain looked before the blowup compared to now, there's no comparison. Many people suffered damage and loss that day. Thankfully the area surrounding St. Helens has returned to a semblance of normal with the wildlife and rebirth of the land.

Happy 63rd birthday Reginald Martinez Jackson. A very storied career with 563 home runs and many strikeouts, you came up big when the cameras were on high. That 3 homer game 10/18/77. The All-Star blast at Tiger Stadium July of 1971. The near MVP year you had in 1980, the only time you batted .300 even. Yes, I still remember your near battle with Billy Martin 6/18/77. Involved with the Yankees these days, I say 'Happy Birthday' to you. The pride of Wyncote, Pa. has done the state proud...

Note to the concessionaires at Rangers Ballpark: When 40,000 people fill the stands, DO NOT go with the fewest food servers possible! First place on your radar, it's okay to up the labor a little! I should not to wait three innings to get food. Open up more stands. Scott Feldman, nice job of going 6 solid innings and giving the Rangres a chance to win and sweep the Angels...Which they did with a 3-0 win!

In the 9th inning I began a chant of 'SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP!' You'd be surprised how quickly the chant was yelled by the whole stadium! Today felt like a playoff atmosphere. It's only May but this Rangers ballclub has a special feel about them. Josh Hamilton made a defensive gem to save two runs. GO RANGERS!

Now for a chance to redeem at the city where they were swept last month.

    Time for a walk!

Over and out in Big D
