Thanks Dick! Laugh Out...
If alive today JFK would have turned 91 years young. In light of what senator Ted Kennedy now faces, I hereby pay my respects and cease with any jokes or comments of and/or related to the lifelong senator and his family. Godspeed Mr. Kennedy...
The Red Wings now take a 3-1 lead on the Penguins as they won a tight Game 5 in Pittsburgh. Chris Osgood had his blinders on to the right vision in stopping almost every shot while the Wings second and third lines created avenues of frustration for Crosby, Malkin, and crew. Detroit should wrap this series up on Saturday night back in Hockeytown. I remind anybody that if you believe your wardrobe is too loud, please consult with the NHL fashionplate Don Cherry. His outfits are almost as colorful as his commentary.
In one week, the Celtics and Lakers will begin the NBA Finals and undoubtedly put up some really good ratings numbers for the networks. It should go seven and I think the Lakers find a way to get it done. Will I watch? I suppose so. I'm more concerned with the possibility the Mavericks don't even make the playoffs next year. More comments as the days get closer.
The heat in North Texas has been somewhat bearable. The humidity on the other hand has not. Reminds me of an old ZZ Top tune,'Heaven, Hell, or Houston.' If Houston is worse than this, I don't know how they do it further south! 98 this day with a chance at triple digits come Saturday. Hello Summer!!!
Metallica has a new release of stuff coming out in September? As long it isn't along the lines of 'Reload II' I can roll with that. My friend Zach has turned me onto a new band called 'Three'... hard hitting heavy metal! Then again after you have found Lamb of God and Opeth, it's all gravy baby!
Read about the passing of Dick Martin, one half of that great team of 'Laugh-In'. Go back to 1969-1970 and there was a program that was very in-your-face comical. Lots of satire, lots of political commentary, and some memorable phrases that are still around today. 'You bet your bippy', 'Right On', 'Here Come the Judge', and one of my favorites by Goldie Hawn,' Don't Go Back-We'll Be Right Away!' Lots of great talent adorned that series, which then spawned other sitcoms. Martin was 86. Quite the life.
Looking forward to watching 'Indiana Jones'. Hope Harrison Ford has finally overcome his fear of snakes. Still need to check out 'Iron Man'. It definitely IS NOT CJ Wilson...
