    Christmas Day Slide Show

    This morning I had my camera with me and began clicking away while walking the dogs. A few things caught my fancy. The way animals respond to a new stimuli. Counting the number of ridges within shards of ice. Standing back and marveling at the beauty of Mother Nature on a cold winters day. Seeing the colorful afterglow when the sun hits directly on the ice-covered roadways. A hazard to drive but a fun challenge to walk.

    White Christmas!

    It wasn't quite what I expected mere hours after enjoying 3-4 days of temperatures in the mid 70's. This morning I was dropping off a friend at the airport at 5 am. The mercury read 47 degrees. I saw the red skies overhead and knew we were hours away from an afternoon of hellacious weather.

    To see Drew Brees throw a pick at a key point of the game and to see Drew overthrow a wide open receiver late in the game tells me that the tandem of Keith Brooking, Igor Olshansky, and company are starting to peak at the right time...

    Winging It and Winning It!

    Tonights Cowboys game is their season in a nutshell. No one is giving Dallas a snowballs chance in hell. One of my regular patrons said, 'When it looks bleak, that's when you root for the underdog.' I'll be shocked if that happens. We saw the Colts barely get to 14-0. Will the 1972 Dolphins get to pop some champagne courtesy of the Cowboys? Stay tuned!

    The White Christmas of Misfortunes

    One week later there was a missed call on a Rob Lytle fumble at Denver with Broncos-Raiders. Mike McCoy came up with the ball. The refs called the play dead. That one play cost the Raiders a Super Bowl run! We were still nine years away from the instillation of instant replay, but it was being bandied about as early as 1977.
