A gorgeous sunny 65 degree day awaits the North Texas area this weekend. I foresee a trip to the driving range at some point this weekend. Maybe a trip to the links on Monday. It occurs to me that this day hold some special allure if you're a fan of the Beatles. It was 68 years ago today 'The Quiet Beatle' was born in England. I still remember where I was 11/30/01 when I heard the news...

Closer to home it also dawns on me that a maverick guy would purchase the Dallas Cowboys 23 years ago today. Jerry Jones has truly enjoyed some incredible highs and lows since 1989. From 1-15 to three Super Bowl trophies in four years to practically nil since 1/28/96. Love him or hate him Jerry Jones keeps the Cowboys in the news and up front. Not too bad with the soundbites either I might add...

Great win for the Dallas Stars Friday night at the AAC. Take away a bogus misconduct call on Steve Ott late in the 3rd it should have been a 4-0 shutout for Kari Lehtonen and company. Third straight win for the 1st time since Dec. 2011. A span of 31 games. To look at the Stars schedule ahead it does not bode well with 4 games still remaining with the Vancouver Canucks and two Canadian swings before April. Despite injuries to both Brendan Morrow and Jamie Benn the Stars are in the hunt in a 4 way tie for #8. Nicely done, boys!

Saddened by the body language Josh Hamilton displayed yesterday during a 36 minute press conference with the media. Bible in hand under a tent, it seemed like Josh was being a little defensive when discussing the season ahead. What will undoubtedly be his last as a Ranger. His remark about 'owing nothing to the Rangerrs' is not resonating well with the fans or the media. I hope I am proven wrong...

Looking forward to a morning in Southlake visiting with friends and dealing with the Ipad insanity inside the Apple Store. That place is always rocking day or night! With so much interest for NASCAR and the Academy Awards episode 22 of my podcast will focus on the latest dance craze that is sweeping the nation-Zumba-with longtime friend and running buddy RUN-TMC and fellow teacher Lourdes Rahn.
