Savant Garde!
Happy Saturday everyone from chilly North Texas.
Not even 24 hours ago the mercury would rise to almost 80. Thankfully I brought along a jacket to keep myself prepared for the next cold front to shoot on through, if even for a day. Tracking weather in Texas is actually pretty simple. If the winds blow from the North, brace yourself. If the winds come from the South, keep the SPF 45 handy for a long time.
One of the joys of being able to network with people is the ability to be at the right place and right time for a given opportunity. Hard to believe that things I used to do for fun 30 years are now coming back to pay off in a big way. I'll take that over the stigma of playing glorified intern anytime.
Suffice to say 'Mr. Will' isn't going anywhere! Rather, his return will be sooner than later on the air, behind the bar, by way of cold read, serving you in a community near you, and having pure mind fun. More of these get togethers are indeed in the works. Looking forward to the challenge.
That was one heck of a get together last night in Arlington for the arrival of Yu Darvish. Got to like a kid who dares to wear a shirt with a hemp leaf on the front. Japanese/Iranian kid with that swagger of Hollywood in him. But can he pitch? I am told Darvish is to Japan what Brad Pitt is to the states. Told Yu also posed nude in a magazine. Hmm...'Moneyball' meets 'Moneyshot' has a nice ring to it.
Call me a cynic. Three years removed from being owned by Major League Baseball I question the wisdom of having a 135 million dollar payroll for 2012. Yes, the Cowboys are your next door neighbor and the market value has been upped. Have we not learned from the A-Rod fiasco 2000? If we indeed do get Prince Fielder, the answer is an emphatic no!
Courtesy of bartender Gary 2 tickets to see Fuel perform in Lewisville next month at the house of Joe Avezzano-Hat Tricks. That's going to be a fun time to be sure! First show since the Gin Blossoms and REO Speedwagon in May 2010.
Three days to tackle homework, housework, and the Sunday huddle. Bring it!
Make it a great day!
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
