    Britney at 30? Feeling Younger...

    Happy Friday everyone.

I hope the week has treated you well. Everything now rolls into high gear as December rolls onward...

One of the first things you notice about this month in my industry is the calendar. It tends to have a lot more color on it than other months. The number of parties-corporate, private, familial, showers, anniversaries, you name it-now multiply tenfold. That interaction of making people feel right at home until Santa's arrival on the morning of the 25th.

This brings me to another topic not often discussed: Having a good game face.

I sometimes feel like the holidays are a similar analogy to how death is perceived. Why worry about it while you're alive? I get that same sense with people turned off by the holidays and the commercialism of it all. Why worry about presents? It's about being there for people. I now pass on a new holiday slogan. 'Presence Over Presents!' P.O.P. for short.

In the public eye, it matters not what you're dealing with in life. You have an obligation to your bosses and to your customers to put your best face forward and focus on the job at hand. What ultimately happens is that you may get the, 'thank you for allowing me to enjoy myself ofr awhile, man I hate the holidays!' speech Or you might stumble across that person who stays happy and upbeat regardless. I like this person as the wisdom and sage advice shall also follow!

It isn't always easy to keep an up mood with the holidays and expectations from others. I can only imagine what's to be expected if I were a parent or a wife to answer to. There's also another scenario: What if you just hate the holidays based on childhood? That wasn't the case in my home. I have heard many a tale of woe with other friends that always saddened me.

Much like a mad rush of diners all arriving at once and leaving all at once, the moment you try to make sense of it all, the holiday is over! And a New Year shall commence. It's best to try to make the best of the situation for better or worse.

I see where Britney Spears turns 30 today. For some reason this makes me feel younger. Far removed from the days of being a Mouseketeer and breaking windows with an umbrella with a shaved head. Britney Spears now enters a new chapter in life, in a better place I am hoping.

The same can be said for a mutual friend to Dallas, Texas. The honorable Rachel Dixon gets younger today as well.

Be sure to pay her a visit tonight in Addison, Texas at the relatively new 'Denim and Diamonds' Country Bar. I am told a fun time shall be had by all. I too will be there with camera in hand!

One more week and the training camps and wheeling/dealing shall begin in the NBA. There will be a season after all! Hallelujah!

Of course if you are a Maverick fan the bigger question is , 'How do we keep Tyson Chandler, JJ Barea, DeSean Stephenson, and Caron Butler?'

Answer: You probably won't. That's the nature of the business...

    Make it a great day.

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
