Test of Fate for Week 8.

Happy early Sunday morning to you.

Those of you in North Texas are no doubt enjoying all the television and radio exposure being heaped upon the Rangers and this World Series, even if the rest of the country has other things to ponder. That's the luck of the draw. Experience has taught me that the longer a series goes the more interest you shall find. Pure and simple.

I had to chuckle when I noted that Mitch Moreland hit the game-winning blast batting in the 9th position. Usually where the pitcher bats in a National League park. As a first baseman you could start the contention that the DH is either voted in or out for the duration of a series to further create strategies at this high level. I have ambivalent feelings toward both. Having grown up an American League fan the DH grew up with me for 38 years.

Colby Lewis is about to have a statue placed in center field next to Nolan Ryan. He of the first three playoff victories in Rangers history. At the very least we name a street in his honor or rename a city ColbyLewisville or Colbyville. Watch that idea gain steam. Game 4 tonight...

Week 8 in the NFL and I do not have a good feeling about Brett Favre. In fact I have the same gut feeling about Brett's ankle as I did Tony Romo going down last Monday night. This is going to be painful to watch. A future cripple on a bad ankle. After 21 years screw the streak!

Equally curious to see if the Cowboys do something, anything the last 9 weeks of the 2010 campaign. My guess is no. I also think Steve McGee starts to see more playtime as early as next week with the Green Bay Packers. A team of over talent and under achieving need only look into the mirror for answers...

If there is such a thing as a lock, that will happen in Indiana Monday night. Think Peyton let's the Texans roll to anther ten point victory for the second time in one year? NO WAY!

I also look for the Raiders to roll in the West for the next 3-5 weeks...

9-5 against the spread last week (55-44-4 for the year) 10-4 straight up...

This week in the NFL I like: Kansas City (-6), Jacksonville (+5.5), St. Louis (-1), Miami (+2.5), Washington (+1.5), San Francisco (-1), The Jets (-5.5), Tennessee (+4), Tampa Bay (+3), New England (-5.5), Oakland (-1.5), Pittsburgh (+2.5), and Indianapolis (-5) in the Mondy Nighter.

If I were to pick an upset I'd say keep an eye on Detroit to pull a fast one on the Redskins. I could be wrong.

Happy watching and bet safely my friends!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
