Holiday Home Cooking.
Good Saturday to one and all! Hopefully by now you have reached your destination if traveling. If not be sure to be safe wherever home happens to be for you this weekend!
Josh Hamilton still sits, and the bad taste left behind in Detroit is now a thing of the past as Texas let youth be served with a thrilling 6-5 victory in Houston to commence the Silver Boot Series on an up note. Derek Holland went a solid six innings in his first major league start. Elvis Andrus went deep and enjoyed a 4 hit evening. Even though a five run was wasted, Nelson Cruz would provide the tenth inning hijinks as he homered off LaTroy Hawkins.
Michael Young is now day-to-day as he strained his foot on a groundout. Nothing major as you come to respect Michael's durability. Lance Berkman ruined an otherwise stellar performance by Holland. Credit Darren O' Day with the win as he improves to 2-0. Texas will try to make it 2 in a row as the Silver Boot series continues this afternoon on Fox.
Spending all of this day at the Byron Nelson in Las Colinas. My camera will be busy and the views will be SMOKING hot! While there will be a small percentage of people watching the action, most people will be girl-watching and getting their drink freak on! The one time of year you will see a wonderful array of cleavage, skirts, and 4 inch heels. A wonderful time to be a part of the Texas folklore. I will have an upclose seat on all the action. Rory Sabbatini looking good early in the tourney. I am hoping Fred Couples has a strong finish. Ditto Vijay Singh.
We may finally see the threat of rain as the heat and humidity now find their way into the forecast this holiday weekend. In fact, rain may be a possibility for the next week as hotter and more humid conditions make their way into North Texas.
Had about four hours of bartending duty at a friends house Friday. That was a fun experience after not doing so for six years. Think of a bicycle sans training wheels. It all came back to me in a flash. People like vodka and red bull. Made a boatload of that! Damn!
Is Dirk Nowitzki a Daddy? Someone is saying yes. Ouch!
Time for a little golf!
Over and out in Big D
