    Thinking Pink.

Happy Monday friends! Here's hoping Mother's Day treated all of you well.

Yes it's still early and yes it's only May. I am absolutely blown away by the way the starting pitching has been (on average) going well into the 7th inning of games. Vicente Padilla for the second start in a row goes 8 innings and allows only 1 hit as the Rangers complete a 5-2 road trip with a big Mother's Day bash from Hank Blalock. What has impressed me about this run of success is that Texas has done it without Michael Young or Josh Hamilton. Both of whom are overcoming injuries and will be available Tuesday night when the Rangers come home.

Someone asked so here goes. The reason you saw the pink bats was to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. In conjunction with the Susan B Komen Foundation, a tradition was started years ago that if player hit a homer with a pink bat, MLB would donate moneys to the foundation and the cause. Simple.

Somewhere in heaven Roger Maris has to be pissed off something fierce. Bad enough his record hitting year of 1961 has an asterisk by it no thanks to Babe Ruth buddy and shill Ford Frick. Now with what transpired on Saturday at the AAC there will be two events in history with the asterisk after 61. I guarantee you we will not see that many calls made by the refs later today. I will be shocked if the Mavericks pull this game out. I really will. I love these late prime time starts...

Who was that Rocket team that put a beating on the Lakers? Shane Battier and Aaron Brooks were able to impose their will. Some of the shots that went were absolutely unbelievable! I watched with awe and shock, so to speak.

I am hearing rumors from well-placed sources that Tiger Woods will be in Las Colinas next week. That will be a nice coup if that happens. Oh, if Tiger and Phil could have a battle for the trophy come Memorial Day! Alas it won't affect me. I will be in Texoma with friends. First time back since 2003.

To a new week and to new endeavors. And to address a better array of foods. Been bad of late. No excuses!

    Time for a life change!

Over and out in Big D
