Not Sid...Sidney!
Happy Birthday Brooke Shields and Joe Namath!
Hard to believe but in another 90 days or so the season for the pigskin shall resume it's splendor in the sun. I mention this as the Dallas Cowboys continue with their OTA's in Valley Ranch. We should know by early next week if Pacman Jones gets reinstated to practice/play with this new team.
There are also reports that the Cowboys are trying to get Terry Glenn to sign an injury waiver that states if he hurts his knee again, Dallas isn't liable for 500,000 dollars. Problem is, Terry Glenn is also slated to make 1.7 million per his current contract! Do the math, if I am Terry I say 'Hell No!' to that waiver! If Jerry Jones is trying to save a buck to better compensate Terrell Owens, he is going about it all wrong.
Based on reports and discussions I have had with people in the know, if the Dallas Stars lose anybody on their current roster, it will be Niklas Hagman and Anti Miettenen. The rest of the team looks to stay intact. I am already looking forward to returning to the ice in October
Deja Vu all over again: Is it possible? Do my eyes deceive me? For a second night in a row, I watch the Texas Rangers pitch another dandy of a ballgame in record time. Sidney Ponson starts a game that is a pitchers duel with the first five innings over and done in 56 minutes. Texas gets some timely hitting from Ramon Vazquez and another win. This game is done in two hours and twenty four minutes! That has to be Arlington first! It wasn't even ten o'clock and the fireworks show was over and done! My kinda night.
Since May 1st, the Rangers are now 9-0-1 in taking series against their opponent. A win Sunday catapults them into second place. A loss leaves them a game above .500. Everything continues to be looking well as I peer into the crystal ball of Ranger baseball games of the future! Scott Feldman gets the start Sunday. When the game is over, Josh Hamilton will be conducting a Q and A with the fans in centerfield. I wish that was something I could attend...
Game 5 in Detroit-WOW! What a finish for the Penguins to refuse to die. Just like the Stars in Game 5 at the Joe in the previous round, they turn in a tingling moment of perfection. It took three overtimes but Pittsburgh finally prevailed 4-3. Detroit was less than a minute from hoisting a Cup when out of nowhere, the Pens said,'Not Yet!' Game 6 Monday night in Pittsburgh where the Red Wings should wrap things up. I have been one of the few to watch each game. Especially after comments Tiger Woods made about the NHL. Seems his Dodgers are more beholden to him than the men on ice. I am expecting Mike Milbury and Ed Olczyk to have their rebuttals ready!
Goodbye May, Hello June!
Over and out in Big D
