The Luongo and Shuorto of it!
The last time the Vancouver Canucks made an appearance here in Dallas, the game was under the radar as the Cowboys were getting their behinds handed to them by the N.Y. Giants on 10/23/06. The last four meetings between the Stars and those mothercanuckers (smile) have been close and physical, all 2-1 victories.
It should be no surprise that Dallas snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. A goalie interference call with under a minute left allowed a 6 on 3 advantage and for Phillipe Boucher to erase a 1-0 deficit with 30 seconds left in regulation. Jere Lehtinen would then score the game winner on a one timer in OT with under a minute remaining for a 2-1 Stars victory. In defense of Robert Luongo, he made some hellacious stops and was robbed of a win. As the playoffs creep closer, Dallas continues to get nearer to the top seed. Five points now separate the Stars and the Ducks from a tie in the Pacific Division. Quite a jump from January 15th when the Stars were 15 points behind Anaheim...Vancouvers loss snaps a six game win streak.
The Stars are liking matinee games as they improve to 4-0.
Next home game will be on Friday, March 2nd. I will be there!
Over and out in Big D
