Playoff Rumblings and Rants.

Playoffs arrive with a BANG! Caught the tail end of the overtime period between Calgary and the Mighty Ducks. Darren McCarty sending Canada home happy, Brendan Shanahan did his scoring magic in the Red Wings overtime victory on Edmonton, wondering if Sacramento can bring any game at all on San Antone, and Iam also hoping that Stars players remember the ugliness of the 2004 playoffs against the Colorado Avalanche. Losing 4-1 in that first round sucked! Game 2 and 5 and 7 I will be there if needed...

Yesterday saw Kevin Mench adjust his shoe size and have a three hit night highlighted by a grand salami...Michael Young goes five for five to raise his batting average to .394! For a guy who is so under the radar, Young is the man! Kameron Loe had problems with location. Aberration and not the norm. Rheinecker shall debut later today against the Devil Rays...

Don't look now Ranger doubters but like it or not, tomorrow the Rangers have a chance to get to .500 after a 2-5 start. Oh yes, tied for first place too! Friday's 13 run outburst courtesy of a visit by Rudy Jaramillo during pregame. Rudy slowly recuperating from prostate cancer rehab. He should be rejoining the club in mid May. If Texas can somehow do the sweepy on the D Rays, I think we'll see a 6-0 homestand as the bats appear ready to lock and load. Also keeping an eye on Morgan Ensberg as he has now gone yard in six straight games for the Stros. Erik Bedard and Curt Schilling both 4-0 for the month of April. Vicente Padilla should be 4-0 except for three bad pitches and Coco Cordero!

I am hopeful to catch a Mavs playoff game in between the Stars and Rangers the next few weeks. Meantime, enjoy the action and keep coming back 'cuz y'all are worth it and I'll work it!
