    Heavens To Betsy!

Before partaking on today's post, the big story in the South is the WEATHER...90 yesterday, 96 today in Dallas. It topped 99 in Arlington where I reside. A few records set as Love Field broke a mercury record from 1913-94 degrees. 96 in Dallas breaks the record for this day in 1920. Two more days of record breaking temps before cooler seasonable weather returns.

This weekend had me thinking back to 30 years ago today in Northern New Jersey as the Yankees were christening their new ballpark, the Twins were in town, the mercury reached 90 and I remember New York blasting the Twinkies 10-0 on homers by Thurman Munson, Mickey Rivers, and I believe Graig Nettles. Ed Figueroa was the winner and New York never looked back. New York is at Minnesota this weekend, irony of ironies...

The weather is fitting as North Texas braces for a playoff push with both the Stars and Mavericks. It is the Master's humble opinion that the semi-finals will be reached by both teams. Anything less shall be deemed a disappointment.

April 21st the fun starts for the Dallas Stars while the Mavericks shall commence their run sometime next weekend, probably against the Memphis Grizzlies. Football diehards can await next month's AFL playoffs as the Dallas Desperadoes have the best record in the league. I will be at the AAC in two weeks to watch the Arizona Rattlers. Looking forward to it.

Bedford Texas was a hotspot yesterday as one young couple, Jim and Betsy, celebrated a 25 year wedding anniversary at the Old Bedford Schoolhouse. With over 125 people in attendance and the Dallas Maverick houseband Emerald City performing, a good time was had by all despite the heat...and the harsh winds.

The food selection varied from roast pig and polenta to burgers to pasta dishes to thai to salmon, crab legs and pork, complimented by a full bar. I was happy to photograph. Congrats Jim and Betsy! You two are quite the couple!

I have photographed Emerald City so many times in the last five years that I got a chuckle when the frontman came by and said,'I remember you from your time in Addison.' True Dat! The mix of music and an awesome dusk setting made for a very memorable afternoon/evening.

I don't get to say this too often but I am very lucky to work with an outstanding and talented team of coworkers present and past. Boss Brian once commented how important it is to surround yourself with talented people. I'll put my team up against anyone's! Great job guys and Thanks! I am the Master and Champps Americana is where you will find me. Easter pictures will be up sometime tomorrow! Guess who the bunny was? LOL!

    Make it a great week.

Over and out in Big D

    Mr Will
