Glitz Free, Just Talk About D!
Once upon a time I lived 12 years in Orange County, Ca. Three times I visited the Forum. Saw the Kings play in January 1985. I saw Metallica there 2/13/92.
I even saw Andrew 'Dice' Clay December 14th 1989 when half of Guns and Roses came onstage for a jam session. I never got the chance to watch the Lakers in person...until tonight! I'm sorry I waited so long!
Everyone pondered how well Kobe would do. Could he top 62? Would he be selfish? Could Dallas get a win? No, no, and yes!
In winning their 12th straight, the Dallas Mavericks have kept each opponent at under 100 points. A 19-2 run late in the 4th period sealed L.A's fate 102-87. Dallas began with a 9-0 run and a 27-10 lead after one.
Kobe held to 22, while non-starter Brian Cook connected for 28. The Maverick D came to play! Lance Armstrong was in attendance as was Spud Webb. I was actually on the same elevator as he on the way back to my seat after the half. Man, what energy the Mavericks possessed on the floor! I forgot how entertaining Mark Cuban keeps things at the AAC...
SPECIAL THANKS to Greg Evans and the ManiAACs for the hospitality. A bunch of pics shall be posted before tomorrow night. This on the heels of a strong Stars performance the night before on Nashville 4-2!
Over and Out in Big D
