    Reuniting with Kimmy C.

Happy All Saints Day! Even if you're a sinner, know that this is your day to hide in the light. So much for paraphrasing...

A cold front shot through North Texas yesterday, and I was prepared! While settling in to watch some basketball and news of the day, I fired up the fireplace for the first time since March. The cool weather to continue through the weekend when rain makes a return...

Tom Brady improves to 10-0 in games played under a dome. When you can complete a pass to ten different receivers there is no wonder why your team scores 31 and wins! The Patriots sure looked SUPER Monday night. The Colts are in trouble Sunday night.

To my friends back in Seattle, I had a run in with an old coworker. It had been ten years since I last saw this person. She always had something nice to say, always had a positive disposition, did her job and never raised hell or high water. The people of Pier 54 on the waterfront in downtown Seattle will be happy to know that Kim Conant is alive and well, residing in Houston Texas. Yes, LOL, I remembered her birthday and if you'd like an email, send one my way for the details and specs. She'll be back in Dallas soon!

The Chicago Bulls made quick work of the Heat last night, so much so that it was the worst defeat by a defending champion on opening night! 42 points easily eclipsed the 15 point loss the Lakers of 1982 endured at the hands of the Warriors. Ben Wallace looks good in red and white! I like it! Tomorrow night the Mavericks and Spurs duke it out at the AAC. This should be a two team race and if Houston wants to join the fray, the more the merrier. I believe the Mavericks will miss the presence of Darrell Armstrong in the locker room...

Special thanks to Craig for this one. Fans of the filmmaking industry will get an enlightening kick out of this bio on Sam Peckinpah. A man of genius before the camera lens, the very same energies that made him tough but pioneering were also his downfall. The story of the man who came from Fresno and raised holy hell with the powers that be in Hollywood in the 60's and 70's. Marshall Fine does a great job at discussing some of the demons that tormented Sam off camera, namely booze and coke. I have yet to watch 'Straw Dogs' or 'The Wild Bunch' or 'Cable Hogue' but am told they are classic for their time. A little under 320 pages, Bloody Sam is a great reference point on the works and life of Mr P. What they then referred to as violent would be passe in this day and age.

I'll be back at the AAC to watch the Stars try to improve their record to 10-2 as the St. Louis Blues come to town. It will mark Bill Guerin's first game in Dallas since last April's fall to the Avalanche. It should be a physical game. Steve Ott looks to be out for at least two months as he begins therapy for his ankle.

Over and out in Big D

    Mr Will
