The More Things Change...
As expected, the new year has begun with such urgency that I haven't been able to keep as up to date as I would like. However I did come across this old picture from halloween 1988. That was the night Eric Dickerson ran wild on Denver in a 55-24 ballgame, I was a young and naive 24, and life seemed alot crazier. Sister Barbara came up with this gem to remind all the newer people I have met that once upon a time I was the king of gel usage. Now a few weeks removed from 41, I can look back and laugh.
On a more serious note, This and my sister site shall be undergoing a vast makeover in the next 60 days. For the last ten years Norm Gregory (a man who I can never thank enough for all of his advice, insight, support, and honesty) has been my friend/radio boss/coworker/web handler. When this month ends, an amicable change will be on the horizon. I now take a moment to say 'Thanks' to Norm Gregory for making the last four years online a fun and learning process.
I met Zach Warner back in July of 2004. A fellow east coast guy with a multitude of experience in web design and not afraid to try new things. He also happens to be my camera guy when out on assignment for local sporting events. Mr Warner will be next up to take M.O.N and P.O.P to the next level. And yes ladies, he DOES resemble Ed Norton and has been the man behind a few MTV 'Road Rules' and 'Real World' episodes.
Should you happen to see some dead space or an 'Under Construction' sign, fear not for I will be returning better than before. That's a quick heads up...
In the meantime, you can expect more updates on high school haps where Highland Park is concerned. February 8th baseball begins in Texas. I look forward to calling games for Pantego Christian and(we hope)Highland Park. March 1st I will be moving to Arlington and saying goodbye to Addison after 2 wonderful years there. Change all around. I try to embrace that and not run from it.
BTW-That night the photo was taken I actually WASN'T hitting the Rumpleminze or Guinness. That's an inside joke for all my old friends from Pierce Street Annex Days.
Over and out in Big D
Mr Will
