Prior to yesterday, the last time I had gotten around to addressing my dental needs was in 1982. Again, I'm not proud of that and do not recommend that you go this route. You get a little older and you start to sense your mortality and the like. I had made a vow when 2007 began that I was going to start taking better care of Will. On the health side, I have succeeded. On the dental side, the process has now begun.
Baseball fans will tell you that some players are expert on stealing signs from a catcher if on base. Of course the runner doesn't know if the first finger wiggled will be the actual pitch or a decoy to another toss. It has been going on for years, much like the occasional KY abuser or spitter specialist on the mound. Gaylord Perry comes to mind.
Ten years ago today I said goodbye to a longtime inside-my-head fog called drunkenness. Seven years ago today I bought a digital camera and made that the new obsession. That obsession switched for the pleasure of reminding myself exactly why the troops (who now serve overseas for my right to freedom) do what they do currently. Reminding myself that 3,000 innocent deaths not go unpunished, that one day terrorism is nothing more than a mental head game, not a cowardly act of aggression in the name of Allah or the Koran or religion.
I begin by giving multiple kudos to my fellow Dallas Stars friends and fans. I know that when you say Texas, you think football and bright lights and the like. I know that there will never be another sport to so dominate one state like the pigskin does. Too bad...
