Four months ago to the day Andre Gurode hosted a Super Bowl party for his 'Center Of Attention' location in Dallas during the icy storms. Last night his second annual 'Casino Royale' shindig went down at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. The note said 'Black Tie Affair' so I gave it some thought.
Time and again as the clock wound down, Jason Terry and Dirk Nowitzki began to jell with awesome clock utilization. Can you say a 22-5 run to end this game? Can you say Dallas making 9 of 10 shots? Can you say the Heat went chilly? Can you say The Matrix was active on both sides of the court? Missed jump shots? Can you say series tied?
Dallas Stars fans no doubt were having flashbacks to 2007 when they had to battle those MotherCanuckers (compliment, not a diss) to a seventh game. Luongo was epic, seems each game was 1-0 and Dallas had more success hitting the post instead of the goal. Me thinkest this series will have that seven game goalie flair for the dramatic. I also expect the physicality along the neutral line to get even more intense. Great win, Vancouver. Yes, I watched all the way.
Having touched on this topic in my last blog I voiced a concern that although Dallas had a solid bench no one was giving love to the bench of the Heat. Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, and former Maverick Juwan Howard contributed a solid 27 points to Team Batman and the Riddler (Bosh reference).
