    Major Minor Fun!

    In the last decade the the running joke I have made about the Roughriders is the ability to ‘watch tomorrows Rangers…Today!’ Lord, has that proven to be true. Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus, Travis Metcalf, Chris Young, C.J. Wilson, Adrian Gonzalez immediately come to mind. That list will most assuredly grow with names like Mike Olt and Jurickson Profar in the mix (Profar the youngest ballplayer in all of minor league baseball).

    Eight is Enough!

    Last year it kind of ticked me off that each A.L. contending team chose to start their ace the Sunday before the event. Hence, no Sabathia, Lester, Verlander, Rivera, or the like. No surprise the National League won the game on a C.J. Wilson gopher ball. I hope this time around the AL has enough firepower to withstand the pitching of the Senior League.

    Swept Away???

    Who is left in the free agent pool that the Mavericks should even consider? If no one of superstar caliber wants to come to Dallas is it too far off to suggest trading Dirk Nowitzki for a stockpile of cash, draft picks, and some lottery luck? If you were Dirk one year removed from a title would you want to be part of a rebuild at age 34 going on 35? My guess is no.

    Memories That Go Forth!

    On a 100 degree Friday in Northern Illinois I was enjoying some rays with friends and learned about Nolan Ryan throwing his 3,000th strikeout as an Astro. Phil Niekro would do the same thing on this same day in 1984! That alone is pretty amazing.
