    One Bright Shiny Emerald Day!

    On this July 15th night 13 years ago I watched the M’s blow a 2-1 lead when Jeff Nelson got rocked by the Padres in the 8th for a tough 3-2 defeat. Not that it mattered. Outdoor baseball was back in the Northwest and I could say I was there!

    To think after September 5th we’ll have pro football games each Monday, Thursday, and Sunday! Some of you may watch out of loyalty. Some to see who you might fare with the daily lines out of Vegas. Many will watch for the physicality and contact. All of that equally understood.

    Only in Louisiana where Mardi Gras and Voodoo go hand in hand would a bastion of fiercely loyal fans collectively welcome the announcement of a contract settlement with the Saints and their star quarterback. It had to happen. It was bound to happen. ANYTHING to take the word ‘Bountygate’ out of the front page and internet.

    Turn The Paige!

    It was one year prior that Jackie Robinson broke the color line with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Larry Doby was the first to do the same in the American League. However it was on this day in 1948 that another well known hurler was given a chance to make magic with the Cleveland Indians. Prior to that there were a few titles brought to the Monarchs of Kansas City. He would pitch anywhere for a price!

    Always Save A Roommate!

    There’s a certain sound a bat makes when you know you have made good contact. A hyperactive ‘CRACK’ was what I heard as I tracked the trajectory and just knew. I KNEW this game was over in favor of the Roughriders 5-4.
