Yu Gotta Believe!
Early numbers indicate that the debut appearance of Yu Darvish drew better numbers than 'Dancing With the Stars'. That's saying something when a rookie on word of mouth can outdraw a decade long television tradition!

It was on this day 1974 that Henry Aaron passed the Babe in Atlanta, Ga. Al Downing was the Dodger who threw it. Downing was the only active ballplayer as a Yankee when Maris hit #61 on 10/1/61. Televised nationally on NBC it was a wild and wacky Monday Night. I remember it well.
It had been 5 years since last attending a Brahmas game at the Nytex Icehouse. Talk about a loud facility! I never knew how much volume 2,500 fans, 1,000 Thunder Sticks, and 50-100 cowbells/noisemakers could create. It made for a fun backdrop for two teams in a CHL playoff (Central Hockey League).
Even so, as I take a moment to look back and reflect there indeed will be a day when I take a year long sabbatical and sync all the pictures, blogs, shows, podcasts, interviews, and poems into a moldable amenable portfolio. Archives from December 2005 are here. Still have homework to complete April 2001 through November 2005. It will happen in time.
For the 1st time in over a decade I will not be attending Opening Day in Arlington, Texas due to work requirements. Thankfully, I will get to enjoy lots of baseball from a minor league prospectus with the Air Hogs and Roughriders. Courtesy of Alex Vispoli and Karen Lucchesi the trips to Frisco and Grand Prairie will be plentiful and often. So glad baseball is back!
