    FCDallas Holds Off The Inevitable!

    Win and they're in!

That's all that FCDallas needed to do on a recent visit to Vancouver with 4th place all but locked up to advance to the playoffs.

    The Whitecaps had other ideas.

Locked in a tight battle with the Portland Timbers for 5th place (Only the top five get in for each conference) the tandem of Mauro Rosales and Sebastian Fernandez struck quickly within a four minute stretch in the first half to give Vancouver a 2-0 victory over FCDallas.

Minute 14 was where Rosales would make a nice pass in the direction of Mr. Fernandez who would then outjump JeVaughn Watson for a header that would go high and hard into the net for an early 1-0.

Minute 18 a loose ball was picked up by Mauro Rosales and taken all the way down the right side before fed to Sebastian Fernandez who then connected on a low kick past El Matador and thar was all she wrote.

FCDallas played without Fabian Castillo for the third week in a row. Even the extra days off did not seem to h help Team Pareja be able to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2011.

FCDallas' only real scoring opportunity came in the 33rd minute of play when an apparent goal by Blas Perez-the scoring leader for the team in 2014-was nullified due to an offsides call. Replays looked to prove otherwise.

Three games remain in the regular season for FCDallas to wrap up one more win. Next up on the slate will be the L.A. Galaxy and Landon Donovan on October 12th. This should be worth checking out as Donovan in all likelihood will be retiring after this season or so it is being rumored.

    For The Record:

FCDallas (14-11-6 48 points) sits in the 4th spot 1 point behind Real Salt Lake (13-8-10 49 points) for 3rd in the West. Hence it is crucial to earn the W. Both the Sounders and the Galaxy have clinched and will battle the for the prestigious Supporters Shield.

One win and they are in. You'll have another chance to catch the Red For 90 crew at home on October 25th. FCDallas trying to get back to the promised land for the first time since 2011. Lets hope a healthy Fabian Castilo and company can help to make that a reality.

Get to Toyota Stadium early. Its going to be a festive night to be sure.

    October 12th: LA Galaxy 6:0pm

    October 25th: Portland Timbers 7:30pm

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will.
