    Leading Into The Dog Days!

    Hello and Happy Saturday.

Some exciting times are about to lie ahead here in North Texas. It used to be that from August to January all you pondered were the Dallas Cowboys. February and March you caught a hockey game, maybe a basketball game to ready yourself for Opening Day in Arlington in April. By May both the Stars and Mavericks were in the playoffs and the Rangers were in the cellar. That meant there was a 45 day drought of nothing to do until Training Camp began in late July. If you liked watching the Tour De France then the layaway was a mere 2 weeks.

    NBA Title Trophy

That’s how things used to be in North Texas. It’s not that way anymore. Now let me be clear:

The Dallas Cowboys and football will always be first in Texas. That will never change. Now that there have been TWO World Series appearances by the Rangers, a Mavericks championship season in 2010, an All-Star Game, a Super Bowl, and even an AA title for the Air Hogs fans have more things to sink their teeth into as we fast approach August.

1.Cowboys Training Camp and the current drama with Dez. Jerry Jones with his usual Super Bowl guarantee.

2.Do the Texas Rangers go out and acquire a hired hand on the mound? Will it be Josh Johnson? Can Alexei Ogando be successful again as a starter with Colby Lewis out for a while? Do you have faith with Neftali Perez upon his return? Or do you seek a reliever come the 31st?

3.Who will get the first gold medal for USA? Ryan Lochte or Michael Phelps?

4.How happy is Mark Cuban that for the 1st time since 1/4/00 he will not have a luxury tax to pay the NBA?

5.Might Terrell Owens be given a shot to play somewhere like a Jacksonville (I can only sight 20 million reasons)?

6.It’s not Chandler, Barea, and Stevenson but can we get excited about Kaman, Collison, Crowder, and Johnson? I don’t know either.

7.Yes, Jaromir Jagr indeed did play for both the Penguins and Panthers. Now he’s here while the Otter and Ribs are not.

8.Will the Cowboys make it to the playoffs? By winning the division or a wild card spot?

9.Does anybody still think Josh Hamilton returns as a Texas Ranger in 2013? Gee, I’m not hearing any outcry now, am I?

    10. Can 4 million people pack Rangers Ballpark in 2012? If it happens I can take credit for one appearance. I was going daily before the bandwagoning took over in 2010.

11.Will TCU have better success in the Big 12 than the Aggies will in the SEC?

12.Are you ready for some Sidekicks Soccer after many years away? Can you say Tatu?

13.Can the Cowboys finally get a home win over the Giants since the move to Arlington? October 28th we find out!

14.Will somebody in Lakerland finally seal the deal for Dwight Howard?

15.LINphomania by way of Houston? Dallas: We have a problem!

Don’t look now but 2012 is now almost 7 months in. Many a surprise lies ahead as we wind our way to 2013. To say nothing of what surprises lie immediately ahead for the U.S. of A. in London for the next two weeks.

Playoff baseball in Texas the next two months. Can you believe what the A’s have done this month? A 17-3 record with an ERA of 3.22? Unbelievable!

Can the Rangers come out of their season long appearance of playing in a stupor? Will fatherhood lead Tony Romo to even better decision making and an even better year statistically than in 2011? Will the team of Mike Modano, Craig Ludwig, Richard Matvichuk, and Eddie Balfour mean instant success for the Allen Americans?

A new golf course to visit tomorrow morning in Midlothian. Pecan Trail GC at 8 am. I so cannot wait!

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
