A New Direction To Take!
Happy Saturday everybody!
Earlier in the week we had really oppressive heat beating down on North Texas. I had jokingly blogged that you can truly tell the difference when you are outdoors in 105 degree heat compared to 100 degree heat. 105 to 95 is like a cool front. If you add a cool breeze to the equation you get to enjoy the dynamic that was experienced in Grand Prairie last night! Lovely!
Over five years ago I made a friend on Facebook. A man with a military background and a die hard fan of all things Texas. Proud of his Western roots as a kid. From the same area as pro wrestler Virgil Runnels (Dusty Rhodes) and I believe Barry Wyndham suffice to say Sweetwater Texas is well represented.
It was during a heat wave in August 2008 that I met Lew Patton. It's never a dull moment when I cross paths with Lew. It's only a matter of time before the topic gets to football and the Cowboys. A conversation bound to get interesting and sometimes heated. Which will lead to a discussion Sunday night that I will be podcasting on the other site.
In making my first trip to Quik Trip Ballpark in 2012 I ran into Lew while the Air Hogs and Amarillo Sox began the 1st of a 4 game set. As the game was begining Lew made me aware that since February he has been featuring my podcasts on his site.
For years Lew Patton has been providing a daily blog about all things topical. Sports, Texas in general, topics of the day, and never in a dull fashion.
We have had our discussions about many things and I say this. Lew Patton is very passionate about what he loves. Lew Patton is passionate about life!
I have been informed that as of today I am now going to be working alongside Lew Patton on his weblog. I know that I have much to learn as I continue my web ways. Lew says 'Prepare to learn Youtube and Ustream'. Okay! I will keep an open mind to all of this.
This under the backdrop of a MILD weather night in North Texas with the Air Hogs coming from behind after trailing 3-0 to win 7-4. Johnny Brownell with a stellar start and key triples by Keenan Simon and Chris McMurray led Grand Prairie to another win. A five game lead over the Amarillo Sox.
I know the Rangers play at home this weekend. There is one ex-Ranger playing for the Sox. His teammate in 2008 was Jason Jennings. Wes Littleton is a part of the Amarillo team. I hope to get an interview with him tomorrow night in Grand Prairie.
Later today it's back to Frisco for a fun evening of baseball with Dallas' finest! Looking forward to it.
Thanks again to Lew Patton for the support. I really look forward to it. 2012 really is half over? Damn!
Over and out in Big D.
Mr. Will
