    Horse Sense Coincidences.

Hello there and Happy Saturday. Hope all is treating you well.

Hours away from bartending for friends and another Texas NASCAR swing of racing I was reminded of the essence of this day. Hard to believe it was 100 years ago when the infamous supertanker sank after hitting an iceberg not far from the area of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Equally hard to believe that Fenway Park also opened its doors for the 1st time six days later.

To quote a certain cigarette brand, 'We've Come A Long Way, Baby!' Not only the Beantown Arena itself but for the amount of history and theories in regards to the sinking of the Titanic. To the point of discovering it underwater years later. Amazing.

Equally amazing is the dynamic of running into people you haven't seen in some time This was the case whilst trying to press my luck with the ponies at Lone Star Park. When I say press my luck, all I do is play the Superfecta.

A ten cent bet that you box up 24 ways for a grand total of two dollars and forty cents. In 8 of nine races I bet. Correctly picking 4 numbers gets tricky. I came close a couple of times to the tune of a debt of under twenty dollars.

So here I was minding my own business when two ex co-workers of mine drop by to say hi. Ryan Clarkson and Tracy Palmer. Two youngsters out and about with friends who came to watch the Randy Rogers Band.

No sooner do I begin to start podcasting on site I hear a yell of my name. I looked left and there was my buddy Vicente. We spoke for a few moments and both made an astute observation: Randy Rogers brings out the ladies! Hot Damn!

This was one instance where I wish my camera battery had not died so early. A few clicks and I would have made Texas proud. The crowd kept getting bigger as the evening wound down. For a moment it was weird to see familiar faces from 2 years ago and longer.

It was then I saw another familiar face from a decade ago when working the sports bar scene in Addison. Claire looked much different than I remembered. She was a young 19 year old when last we worked as one. Amazing what a decade will do to you. She looked happy and content so I chose to not bother her group.

My trek to the Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie is usually once a year on Memorial Day. With the date reading Friiday the 13th it made perfect sense to donate a few cents to the community while seeing some of God's creation cause excitement some 70 seconds at a time nine or ten times in a night.

Spring racing is back in North Texas and will run until mid July. For a night out with friends, check out Lone Star Park. Kitty Corner from Quik-Trip Ballpark. Home to the 2011 Defending Champion Air-Hogs. Also a fun place to watch baseball.

My thanks to Ryan, Vicente, and Tracy for stopping by and to say hi.

Get those taxes done! You have 24 more hours to file or get the extension.

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
