    Surprise of Surprises!

    Hello and Happy Friday Everyone!

For the first time this summer I make an admission I'm not sure I want to make. I might have something in common with the Texas Rangers. The last few days I have found myself very tired and battling fatigue. Sleep has been at a minimum. I am hopeful that will change in the next 24-48 hours.

Today is going to be an interesting day. I knew that when I noticed a message on my Facebook page to make a phone call. Imagine my surprise that an event I was invited to now gets more exciting as I will have the opportunity to do something special. On a baseball field of all places!!! God is watching, and no doubt laughing and saying, 'I told you so, Rainman!'

This Monday night will be the last regular season baseball game for the Grand Prairie AirHogs as they play the El Paso Diablos. On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters there will be a tribute to former Texas Ranger/Phillies/Cubs skipper Frank Lucchesi. The game will start at 7pm. A pre-game ceremony will commence prior. I will have the honor of emceeing this event! I am very excited about this. With a special thanks to Jean Robb and Karen Lucchesi. Heck, if it's Italian it's got to be good!

I then receive a text about possibly getting to meet and serve a Senator today at lunch. I don't mean an ex-ballplayer either. I speak of Senator Dan Patrick, representative of Houston I believe. Not sure what comes of this but I will be ever so quiet and polite. He owns a chain of radio stations, including the one where I currently work. As close as I'l ever get to meeting Keith Olberman's foil...

Ah yes, what was that total of disparity on the runs side? 30-7? Alexei Ogando looked tired as did Matt Harrison the night before with the suddenly emerging Red Sox. The return of David Ortiz, Big Papi has certainly helped to booster the offense. Ex-Ranger Adrian Gonzalez with 5 blasts this week to propel him over 100 ribbies. Now to be considered for possible A.L. MVP. He really went 84 at-bats without a tater? No way!

Don't look now but here come the Angels. 6 meetings left head to head. Can Texas hold on? I am not holding my breath this moment. They look really, really tired.

All eyes on Hurricane Irene.  This could mean possible layovers here in North Texas. May the damage be minimal.

    Make it a great day!

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
