7-7-7! No Noose Is Good Noose!

    Happy Tuesday my friends!

To those of you who were in attendance, including our very own 'Pete The Greek', the atmosphere was electric and loud. If you thought that the Dallas Mavericks were about to lay down and play dead think again!

A wise man once said, 'When in doubt, just go deep inside'. With a memory span of a team with A.D.D. Dallas had an answer for the Trail Blazers on Monday night. His name was Tyson Chandler. A 7 footer with an impressive first quarter that helped set the tone as a 7 footer with 7 offensive rebounds and 7 points.

Overall Chandler set a Maverick playoff record for offensive rebounds, and was the perfect foil for Dirk Nowitzki's 25, 14 by Shawn Marion, and a key 3 by Peja Stojakovic late in the 4th to give the Mavericks a 20 lead. A lead that didn't shrivel up and disappear.

The Mavericks now have two games to lock this series up and face a rematch with the defending champion Lakers, once they get past their series with Chris Paul and the Hornets.

Andre Miller led all Blazer scorers with 18 in a losing cause. The home team was won each game through five. Have the Mavericks now figured out a way to steal a win in Game 6 if Tyson Chandler can remain a thorn in the proverbial side defensively? I say yes!

During the course of a playoff round you will see battles won and wars lost. Games 3 and 4 Portland may have won the battle. Rick Carlisle I am confident will now shut the door. What are the odds we see some action from Caron Butler, DeSean Stephenson, and Roddy Beaubois in Portland to aid in the rotations and schemes? Again I say yes!

Maverick fans: You represented well Monday night. If indeed there is a game 7, that will happen sometime Saturday night. That's a game I wouldn't mind going to see.

That C word has now been replaced. A 7 foot plus of it courtesy of the guy brought in during the off-season, Tyson Chandler. Go get em Mavs!

16 years ago today an ugly strike finally ended in Major League Baseball, and not before alienating a multitude of fans, some of whom still have not returned.

Tornadic weather has been the other big story in North Texas today and again tomorrow. Be safe wherever your travels take you.

Over and out in Big D.

    Mr. Will
