    Living in Os(walt).

Happy Monday and yes we are less than a week away from Independence Day. 2010 fast becoming a memory of yesterdays. Off the top of my head...

At 11:01pm Wednesday night there will be a bunch of NBA players who will test the waters of free agency. The Big 3 being LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. Not until July 8th will trades be able to go down. Rest assured the squawk radio folk will blather on needlessly about 'sources, insiders, and experts' to provide needless fodder about who goes where.

It would make me laugh if all the major names, including Dirk Nowitzki, stay put and go nowhere. Alas this is a game of chance thus I'll put in my two cents and state that I will not be surprised if the Big 3 of free agents wind up in Miami or Chicago. I would be very surprised if Dirk did not finish his career as a Maverick, yet if he chooses to go elsewhere, he has my blessing since he never had a solid number two to help reach the promised land.

Dallas can forget the idea of LeBron coming to Dallas. That is a pipe dream and nothing more. A bigger market will attract King James, pure and simple. If anyone comes to the Mavericks the name I keep hearing get bounced around is Joe Johnson, the Hawk. He would thrive under the Rick Carlisle system of play, and like many other NBA players, has a great rapport with Jason Kidd.

Here's a more interesting thought. What if in the space of one month we learn that Mike Modano and Dirk Nowitzki don'[t return to play in Big D? No one seems to believe this scenario? Lets add one more caveat. Both players decide to reunite with ex-coach and ex-player partner. The Suns and Coyotes. Maybe I'm stretching on this one but I'll throw the idea out there.

Having seen how poorly Roy Oswalt performed last night in Arlington, I highly doubt the Rangers will do anything to aid their cause come July 31st. The money will not be there and the whole Chapter 11 scenario continues to haunt the ballclub. Should anyone be surprised if we start to hear rumblings about other ownership willing to step in and appease the creditors?

Alas many a scenario in theory only. I'll throw one more out. The longer the bickering over ownership of the Rangers continues the more I believe the franchise gets moved to another part of the U.S. within the next two years. Go ahead and laugh, stranger things have happened.

Off to deal with a dealership.

Over and out in Big D
