Dez Time and Motown Prime.
Happy Sunday my friends.
By now the gamut of the 2010 NFL draft has run it's course. Having gone the Prime Time route I didn't get the chance to watch much of the festivities or the Mel Kiper prognostications. I knew I heard rumblings about the Cowboys trying to trade up, which they did when making their 24th selection first round choice.
I remember a disco tune that was popular in 1977 in which the chorus kept saying, 'Dazz Time, disco time!' Bass heavy and great to boogie to. In light of the new Cowboys acquisition, are we too far off to speak about reworking the words to speak of 'Dez Time, Super Bowl Time'? Just a thought.
Lots of perceived upside as to what he can do as a receiver and special teams guy. It's already a given Dez will wear #88. He may have an added reason. Bryant was born in 1988. Dez may very well help to free up Miles Austin. Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd? Gone!
It has been a windy and cool weekend here in North Texas. Ideal for catching a ballgame in Arlington. Run TMC was along for the ride as she has Detroit roots. Colby Lewis was tossing for Texas, and he was actually quite impressive for the third time this month after escaping a horrific two innings.
Micheal Young would be the story of this day with a 5 rbi day and a 3 run double. A game won by the Rangers 8-4. It was actually kind of interesting to be able to get some close-up pictures using the binocular to camera lens trick. One day removed from Elvis Andrus bobblehead night kids were being given Red Elvis tee-shirts. Rather sharp looking I might add.
Run TMC definitely kept the conversation interesting with some keen insights and questions.
A few pictures with Tiger fans had her feeling right at home.
With 90-100 degree days ahead for the summer, for one April day it was nice to enjoy some baseball with seasonable temperatures. With a working situation that I am very content with, the thought of lessening the number of games attended will drop from 75 to maybe 13. That's fine by me.
David Murphy started the Rangers scoring with a monster home run. This picture was taken courtesy of my camera transposed within the lens of Tanisha's binoculars. Pretty cool, huh?
The Rangers and Tigers wrap up their four game set Monday night before the White Sox roll into town for three games. The Rangers need to just keep winning 2 of 3 to ensure job security for Ron Washington and to maintain the hopes of the Ranger faithful.
Game 4 tonight at San Antonio. I'll be at a Crawfish boil party in Addison to watch the game. I hope the Mavs can bounce back but my gut tells me we are in big trouble. I hope for once I am wrong.
Game 6 was made aware that I will be in attendance. A case of too little too late? Time will tell...
Make it a great week!
Over and out in Big D
Mr. Will
